Old Birdies... On aging...
If we're lucky, our birds get old. We need to think about their special needs and, sometimes, OUR special needs!!!
This bird is 33 or 34 years old. I birdsit a couple of times a year. He needs lots of fresh food and lettuce, a clean cage, a whistle and some company, and a lot of "down time" in his cage. Debbie will be writing a series of articles on care for aging pet birds, but for now, enjoy a look at a bird that (maximum) should have lived only 25 years and has made it to 33 or 34. (I'll have to ask his "mom" to make sure he's still 33.)
